A meeting room where Deaf and hearing colleagues each work in their own language

Spoken words become captions and signing. Signs become English, read aloud for the room. Everyone stays in the same conversation.

Experimental prototype. British Sign Language only.

When someone signs

Alice, via InSyncYes. What time is it?Read from her hands, written in English, spoken for the room

“I don't know that sign yet”

InSync says when it's unsure, instead of guessing. Teach it a client's name or a work word: record it twice, test it, save it. Then sign it again, and it's understood.

Alongside human interpreters, not instead of them

Book a qualified interpreter for interviews, medical, legal and big meetings. InSync is for the everyday calls that often happen with no support at all.

Where it stands

A hackathon prototype. The avatar signs one sign at a time, without facial grammar, so it isn't full BSL. Deaf users haven't tested it yet, and that comes next.

How will you join?

Say one short sentence, then wait. Signing takes longer than speech, so Alice needs time to watch and reply.
